Paul started playing tennis quite late in life after spending his early years as a keen football player. At 15 years he discovered tennis and seldom played football again. As a junior he was a regularly club champion at one of Hertfordshire’s top performance clubs and even represented the Men’s 1st team.
Paul’s coaching career started back in 1990 when he travelled over to Sydney, Australia, where he worked in one of its largest tennis centres. After returning to the Uk, Paul started coaching at Wimbledon park, working with Merton’s top juniors and also spent many years working as part of the big junior program at David Lloyd’s flag ship club in Raynes Park, where he worked with children of all ages. Paul now coaches exclusively in Wimbledon Park and coaching is his great passion, he keeps up with the modern game and is always looking to develop his own game and coaching with new ideas. Paul loves coaching all ages; especially he says children who are in his words great fun to be around.
In addition to running his own coaching business Tennis4you Paul has also developed his own system for coaching toddlers, named tennis4toddlers.co.uk which is based on over 25 years of experience and international research. Paul has also developed londontennis.co.uk which is a greatly successful online club of adult players growing at over 17000 members. Paul also has a steadily growing tennis holiday business tennisbreaks.co.uk which is growing really well from people returning to trips time and time again and bringing their friends.
Paul has worked with many professional players, celebrities and top sports psychologist Dr. John F Murray providing workshops about the mental side of tennis. He has also put on numerous corporate tennis events for major corporations, including a regular BP Open for BP Oil International. Paul has coached top national juniors, and produced a player who is currently playing in professional tournaments and trying to get his first ranking points.
Tyrone started coaching around the same time as Paul. He has coached at the Hurlingham Club and has been like Paul a regular at Wimbledon park for many years. Tyrone has vast experience and has played the game at a high level. During his career he has worked with a couple of professional players on the WTA tour.
